The ANVESHAN Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Waste Management at IIM Indore hosts the “Trash to Treasure Challenge,” an innovative competition designed to address waste management issues. Aligned with the Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0, this challenge invites students to propose sustainable solutions for waste reduction, focusing on practical and impactful ideas.
The competition received entries from top institutions across India, with students presenting ideas in areas such as biogas production, eco-friendly products, and electric vehicle batteries. After three rounds of evaluations, Team Inscius from IMI New Delhi emerged as the winner with their idea to convert organic waste into ethanol.
The event fostered collaboration, enhanced students’ problem-solving skills, and highlighted the potential for transformative change in waste management. It also created valuable networking opportunities and inspired future research in sustainable practices.
